From Organic Cultivation in Sri Lanka to Premium Moringa Products for Europe

This project proposes the development of an integrated organic moringa cultivation and processing company in Sri Lanka. The operation will combine a 23-acre moringa plantation with a dedicated two-acre processing and logistics site.

Fresh moringa leaves will be cultivated, harvested, cleaned, dehydrated and processed under controlled conditions. The finished products will include dried moringa leaves, moringa powder, capsules and herbal tea bags, primarily for export to Germany and other European markets.

The Project Concept

The company will manage the complete value chain—from planting and cultivation to processing, packaging and export. This integrated model will improve traceability, provide better control over product quality and reduce dependence on external processors.

The plantation will follow organic farming principles, with careful management of soil health, irrigation, harvesting and post-harvest handling. Fresh leaves will be transported directly from the plantation to the processing facility to minimise delays and preserve their natural colour and quality.

Land Allocation
23-Acre Organic Moringa Plantation

Approximately 23 acres will be used for commercial moringa cultivation. The plantation will include:

Organically managed moringa growing areas
Irrigation and water-storage systems
Internal access and harvesting paths
Composting and natural fertiliser preparation
Seedling nursery and plant-development area
Harvest collection points
Buffer zones and biodiversity areas
Space for future cultivation trials and expansion

Harvesting will be organised in planned cycles to provide a consistent supply of fresh moringa leaves to the processing facility.
